(Gossip-Grind News) Did Malik Yoba Get Fired From ‘Empire’ For Drug Use?
Empire actor Malik Yoba’s character Vernon Turner died in the Season 1 Finale, and now reports are surfacing that he claims his fellow cast mates went to producer Lee Daniels with reports of him doing illegal drugs on set and ask he be dismissed. FOX is not commenting on the situation, yet his character definitely died. This is possibly my favorite new show and I cannot wait for Season 2! RIP Vernon Turner.
Yoba shared the following comment with TMZ about his character’s death and the reasons for it:
“To this day, I don’t know — in the infinite wisdom — who thought it was the best approach, but someone did. I never got a clear answer on it. But it wasn’t about the work or ethics or work ethics. It was the plot line. Vernon’s gone, but Malik lives on. And — as I’ve told you, Chuck, in private — it’s a great opportunity to push forward the work that I’m doing in terms of building my own empire, if you will.”
