Kendrick Lamar Crowns Himself KING OF NEW YORK

image

In what has to be one of the boldest moves in hip hop since Tupac Shakur declared war on Biggie Smalls, Jay Z, Nas and several other New York rappers. West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar has proclaimed himself the new King of New York (a title which seems to have been left vacant as of late). The Compton mc is featured on Big Sean’s single Control (HOF), a track that also features Jay Electronica and was premiered last night by Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97.

Kendrick spit lyrical venom on the track overshadowing both Big Sean and Jay Electronica while taking shots at several of his hip hop peers, letting it be known that he’s out to crush any rapper (and he names names) that stands in his way.

“I’m Makaveli’s offspring/ I’m the King of New York/ King of the coasts/ One hand, I juggle them both.”

I’m usually homeboys with the same ni**as I’m rhymin’ with/ But this is hip-hop and them ni**as should know what time it is. And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but I’m tryna murder you ni**as/ Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you ni**as/ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you ni**as.”
