(Gossip-Grind) Mobb Deep’s Prodigy Dead At 42:
The hip hop community is mourning the lost of legendary Queensbridge mc Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Prodigy died Tuesday morning after being hospitalized over the weekend. He was 42.
The artist, whose real name was Albert Johnson, was hospitalized several days ago in Las Vegas due to complications from sickle cell anemia.
“As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth,” his rep said in a statement Tuesday. “The exact causes of death have yet to be determined.”
The rapper had been removed from a Las Vegas meet-and-greet with fans Saturday night after appearing weak, according to TMZ. The high temperatures in the desert likely made his sickle cell worse.(NY Daily News)
