The rape trial of dancehall entertainer, Elephant Man, failed to get underway today in the Home Circuit Court.

The matter has now been rescheduled to November 29.

The matter had to be pushed back because the prosecution informed that it could not find the case.

The artiste, whose given name is Oneil Bryan, is on charges of grievous sexual assault and rape.

The police say the charges stem from an incident at his St Andrew home in January last year.

Investigators say a woman filed a police report claiming that the artiste had sexually assaulted her.

Bryan is being represented by Linda Wright.

He has been out on bail.
