Big Gipp’s 85 South Interview

(Gossip-Grind) Big Gipp’s 85 South Interview:

Big Gipp, pioneering Atlanta rapper, and 1/4 of the legendary Goodie Mob, sits down with Karlous Miller and Ronnie Jordan on The 85 South Show to give what could easily be described as an Atlanta hip hop history lesson. Gipp gives a first hand account of how some of ATL’s biggest artist, producers (TLC, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Jermaine Dupri, Organized Noize) and label executives got their start in the music industry.

Gipp details meeting some of hip hop’s biggest names, and tells how the Atlanta music scene evolved from a humble start with bass music to become the diverse hit machine that it is today.

Gipp is a interviewer’s dream guest. He takes command of the interview from beginning to end, telling captivating stories from his twenty plus years in the game. Throughout the conversation Gipp drops music industry knowledge, and gives advice to hip-hop’s latest generation of rhyme spitters.

He also gives viewers a recount of his experiences with one of the greatest rappers of all time. Gipp spent time with Tupac Shakur the night that Shakur shot two off duty Atlanta police officers, and was in the studio with Pac and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez when he previewed his scathing Notorious B.I.G. diss song Hit Em Up.
